Site description: Three upland areas to the east and south-east of Dufftown, important for breeding waterbirds.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Delineation rationale: First identified in 2000; renamed in 2007 from Tips of Corsemaul and Mortlach, plus boundary adjusted to match SPA. 2000 area, 310ha. SPA boundary used from JNCC; digitised at 1:10,000 scale. Additional area added on 1:50,000 maps.
