Site description: Located in Chuxiong City. The main habitats in the IBA are coniferous forest, scrub and grassland, with a forest cover of 94%. The nature reserve consists of a 12,000 ha buffer zone and a 4,000 ha core area, and 1,753 ha of the national forest receive good protection.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
