Site details
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that was identified using previously established criteria and thresholds for the identification of Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) and for which available data indicate that it does not meet global KBA criteria and thresholds set out in the Global Standard.
Delineation rationale: Main focus of delineation is the distribution of the Black Kite and its hotspot in the South-West of Luxembourg. But other species have also been taken into account as the Middle Spotted Woodpecker, the Northern Lapwing, further also the Red-Backed Shrike and the Great-Grey Shrike (which has not its main distribution in this region of Luxembourg). Further, also SCI's and nation Protected Area's (Nature Reserves) have been taken into account for delineation.
