Site description: A dry heathland, with large parts dominated by grasses, and with some bogs and small plantations.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: The site was designated as an SPA in 1983, based on its populations of Tringa glareola and Tetrao tetrix; both are listed on Annex I of the EC Birds Directive, but are no longer present.
