Site details


Site description: Large plantations (coniferous and deciduous) on former heathland with glades and many, mostly small, wetlands with bogs and water-fringe vegetation.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that was identified using previously established criteria and thresholds for the identification of Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) and for which available data indicate that it does not meet global KBA criteria and thresholds set out in the Global Standard.
Additional biodiversity: The only known breeding site in Denmark for Aegolius funereus (max. 2 pairs). Other species listed on Annex I of the EC Birds Directive that breed at the site include Pernis apivorus, Milvus milvus, Grus grus, Aegolius funereus, Caprimulgus europaeus, Dryocopus martius and Lanius collurio.
