Site details
Site description: Three larger and several smaller islands and islets, together with surrounding seas. The islands are mainly covered in boulders and scree, intermingled with ponds and vegetated areas. Human activities include fishing and sheep-grazing, both at low intensity.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that was identified using previously established criteria and thresholds for the identification of Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) and for which available data indicate that it does not meet global KBA criteria and thresholds set out in the Global Standard.
Additional biodiversity: This is the southernmost seabird colony of notable size in Norway.

Threats
Summary of threats to biodiversity at KBA: Introduced rabbits Oryctolagus cuniculus are present. Entrance to the Nature Reserve is prohibited during the breeding season. Breeding seabirds are monitored almost annually by the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research.
