Site details


Site description: Most of this site is in the montane and subalpine zones. It is predominantly forested with substantial areas of broadleaved deciduous forest, dominated by Fagus on the southern slopes. The majority of the forest is not utilized for forestry, except on the lower slopes.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that was identified using previously established criteria and thresholds for the identification of Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) and for which available data indicate that it does not meet global KBA criteria and thresholds set out in the Global Standard.
Additional biodiversity: An important area for breeding and resident species characteristic of montane and subalpine forest.
