Site details


Site description: Large meadows with arable land in the Landgraben-Taube lowland area. The site also includes the Neolith pond and the Diebziger forest.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: The site holds 20,000 or more waterbirds in winter, on a regular basis. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Crex crex (2-5 breeding pairs).
