Additional biodiversity: IBA Trigger species: Yellow-eyed Penguin, Stewart Island Shag, Red-fronted Parakeet, Weka Besides the trigger species the following species are confirmed or likely to be breeding: Little Penguin, Sooty Shearwater, Broad-billed Prion, Fairy Prion, Paradise Shelduck, Mallard, Pied Shag, Spotted Shag, White-faced Heron, Australasian Harrier, Variable Oystercatcher, Banded Dotterel, Southern Black-backed Gull, Red-billed Gull, White-fronted Tern, NZ Pigeon, Morepork, NZ Kingfisher, NZ Pipit, South Island Fernbird, South Island Robin, South Island Tomtit, South Island Fantail, Silvereye, Bellbird, Tui, Skylark, Hedge Sparrow, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Redpoll, Yellowhammer, Starling, Australian Magpie.
