Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Delineation rationale: 29 May 2017 - the three IBAs Drontermeer (SitRecID 1219), Veluwemeer (SitRecID 1220) and Wolderwijd & Nuldernauw (SitRecID 1221) have been merged to form the IBA Veluwerandmeren (SitRecID 45673; designated as an SPA on 16 February 2010).
