Site description: An extensive area of coastal tundra with river valleys and wetlands.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Important as a breeding and moulting site for two species of goose. Breeding birds include 8 of the 32 species that are restricted in Europe to the Arctic/tundra biome (when breeding).
