Threats

Summary of threats to biodiversity at KBA: This site was once one of the most important Somateria mollissima colonies in Greenland˜numbers have crashed since the beginning of the 1900s as a result of persecution by humans. If suitable protection measures are introduced then numbers of Somateria mollissima will probably begin to increase again.
