Site details


Site description: A shallow bay in the straits of öresund, situated to the north of a new bridge linking Sweden and Denmark. The beaches are of sand and clay.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: This is an important site for wintering wildfowl, breeding and passage waders, and both wintering and passage gulls.
