Site details


Site description: Labudovo okno represents a section of the Danube flood-plain, situated in the southeastern part od Pannonian lowlands (Banat district, Vojvodina Province). Natural Oak, Willow and Poplar forests as well as poplar plantations, wet meadows, marshes, fry grasslands are present.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Delineation rationale: 2014-10-14 (BL Secretariat): following Puzović (2009), site area changed from 12000 ha to 6488 ha; coordinates changed from 44.817N 21.267E to 44°48'1'N 21°17'38'E.
