Site details
Site description: Mountain valley in the sources of Khodz' river are continue in steppe and forest-steppe landscapes in the middle reaches, where narrow belt of humid forests surrounded by arable lands and pastures.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Delineation rationale: 2009-08-11: IBA area changed from 10,500 ha to 7,200 ha (by BL Secretariat, following RBCU spreadsheet of changes that need making). 2014-08-12 (BL Secretariat): centroid coords adjusted to 44°10'16'N 40°37'15'E and site area changed to (or confirmed as) 7200 ha (rounded), on basis of refined polygon downloaded from Spatial Database on Important Bird Areas of Russia 2014 (© Russian Bird Conservation Union, © Transparent World).
