Site details
Site description: Huge lake on the south of Arkhangelsk region, surrounded by very wet forest and bogs.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: Up to 40000 ducks are gatherd on the lake after breeding season
Delineation rationale: 2009-08-06: IBA area changed from 53,500 ha to 57,035 ha (by BL Secretariat, following RBCU spreadsheet of changes that need making). 2014-08-12 (BL Secretariat): centroid coords adjusted to 61°12'57'N 38°47'56'E and site area changed to (or confirmed as) 57035 ha (rounded), on basis of refined polygon downloaded from Spatial Database on Important Bird Areas of Russia 2014 (© Russian Bird Conservation Union, © Transparent World).

Summary of habitats in KBA: High irregular flooding is a threat (natural events).Lachski Zakaznik which was created here in 1971 should be maintaned up to 1986. It is unclear by 2000 are this Zakaznik still exists or not. Corrections of status of protected area and their boundaries is needed.
