Site details


Site description: Located in Huma County. The Huma He is a tributary of the upper Heilongjiang River. The habitats in the IBA include hilly slopes, marshes and floodplains.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected plants include Panax ginseng, Pinus sylvestris and Acanthopanax senticosus. Animals include Alces alces, Martes zibellina and Vulpes vulpes.
Delineation rationale: WPDA polygon used, accuracy difficult to determine, however, polygon very crude.
