Site details


Site description: Located c.5 km south-east of Shicheng Dao (CN060), the IBA comprises two small islands, Xingren Tuo and Yuanbao Tuo. Xingren Tuo is uninhabited, but a small aquaculture operation has been developed on Yuanbao Tuo with about 10 workers. Prior to the establishment of the non-hunting area, the collection of bird eggs was a very serious threat.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
