Site details


Site description: Located in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia Plateau, asnd linked with the lower western part of the Da Hinggan Ling mountains. The main habitat in the IBA is grassland, with sparse woodland and scrub on sand dunes. There are meadows and marshes along the Xilin River and on lake shores.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Procapra gutturosa and Marmota spp. are found in this area.
