Site description: Located in northern Ningxia, with the Yellow River flowing along the eastern border of the site. The climate in the IBA is temperate and arid. It is one of the main agricultural areas in Ningxia with some industrial development.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
