Site details


Site description: Located in southernmost Ningxia, on the border of Gansu Province. The IBA is between the Wei He and Jing Shui watersheds and is the source of the Jing He river. It has a moist temperate climate and the main habitat is montane grassland, and there are also areas of montane broadleaf deciduous forest and agricultural land.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
