Site description: System of artificial fishponds to the east of Arsk town.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: This place are used also by ducks on spring migration. From 4700 to 11600 ducks stage on 1000 ha area. Could be an IBA becouse of rather large amount of birds on size, rather small in size.
Delineation rationale: 2014-08-12 (BL Secretariat): centroid coords adjusted to 56°5'36'N 49°56'48'E and site area changed to (or confirmed as) 940 ha (rounded), on basis of refined polygon downloaded from Spatial Database on Important Bird Areas of Russia 2014 (© Russian Bird Conservation Union, © Transparent World).
