Site details
Site description: Located in the north-eastern part of Wushan County, the IBA is linked to Shennongjia (CN348) in Hubei Province in the north-east. The main vegetation types are broadleaf evergreen forest, mixed broadleaf evergreen and deciduous forest and coniferous forest.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected species include Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Asiatic Black Bear, Goral and Rhesus Macaque.
