Site description: Kamojang is located around 7 km north of Garut while Papandayan is around 21 km south-west of Garut.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: The other important faunas in Kamojang are Presbytis comata and Trachypithecus auratus (Nijman 1997). And fauna in Papandayan are Hylobates moloch, Presbytis comata and Trachypithecus auratus (Asquith et.al.1995, Nijman 1997)

Summary of habitats in KBA: The habitat type of Kamojang is upper mountain rainforest with an important water catchment function and recreation value. Gunung Papandayan has degraded mountain forest with hot water springs (MacKinnon et.al. 1982).
