Site details
Site description: Located on the south coast of Java around 17 km west of Jampang Kulon.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: Non-bird biodiversity: Bos javanicus, Panthera pardus, Sus verrucosus, Hylobates moloch, Presbytis comata, Trachypithecus auratus (Silvius et.al.1996, Nijman 1997). Chelonia mydas, Dermochelys coriacea and Eretmochelys imbricata (Silvius et.al.1996)

Summary of habitats in KBA: Most of the area is secondary lowland rainforest and some patches primary forest (MacKinnon et.al. 1982), the rest of the area is mangrove forest and swamp.
