Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Delineation rationale: 2014-09-17 (BL Secretariat): in 2011 RBCU realised that Indigirka delta IBA [SitRecID 16610] was overlapping with Kytalyk Resource Reserve IBA [SitRecID 16602], therefore the former site has been merged into the latter site as of 2011 (per T. Sviridova [RBCU]). 2014-08-12 (BL Secretariat): centroid coords adjusted to 71°20'7'N 146°51'46'E and site area changed from 1,607,000 ha to 5,336,800 ha (rounded), on basis of refined polygon downloaded from Spatial Database on Important Bird Areas of Russia 2014 (© Russian Bird Conservation Union, © Transparent World).
