Site details


Site description: A mountain range in the north of Burgos province with numerous cliffs and two small gorges. The slopes are covered by scrub, Pinus plantations and small Quercus and Fagus woodlands. The area is used for livestock grazing, forestry and hunting.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: This is an important site for cliff-nesting birds.
