Site description: The site includes heathlands, meadows, ponds and marshes, deciduous and coniferous woodlands, bogs, hedgerows and bocages.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Additional biodiversity: The site is important for forest and heathland birds and migrating raptors. The site is a migratory bottleneck where more than 3,000 Grus grus regularly pass.

Summary of threats to biodiversity at KBA: The abandonment of grazing is leading to the expansion of forests. In particular, this threatens Circus spp. and Lullula arborea.
