Threats

Summary of threats to biodiversity at KBA: The Grande Brière is insufficiently flooded during summer (due to changes to the Loire estuary, see site 023) and the resulting high salinity is having a serious effect on the vegetation at the site. There is also considerable hunting pressure. Drainage and infilling of the surrounding areas are also reported threats.
