Site details
Site description: A xeric rocky area with cliffs suitable for breeding of birds of prey with the only recent nesting place of Lanner. The open habitats and mosaics are one of the most important nesting areas of Olive-tree Warbler in Croatia. Forest habitats are represented by young submediterranean forests and scrubs. The main threats are changes in traditional farming, unregulated recreational activities and tourism, excessive or illegal hunting and planned or ongoing infrastructural development (powerlines, wind-energy plants).
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that was identified using previously established criteria and thresholds for the identification of Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) and for which available data indicate that it does not meet global KBA criteria and thresholds set out in the Global Standard.
Delineation rationale: Area changed from 47217 ha to 45905 ha, as part of 2010 revision of IBAs/proposed SPAs.
