Site details
Site description: A large complex of wetland and forest that includes several natural bogs and lakes. Part of the IBA was first listed in the second European IBA inventory [3] and further modified in the subsequent national [1] and current lists. High protection level: there is a 91.0% overlap with Stiklu bogs restricted nature reserve, a candidate SPA.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that was identified using previously established criteria and thresholds for the identification of Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) and for which available data indicate that it does not meet global KBA criteria and thresholds set out in the Global Standard.
