Site description: A valley with grassland and small wetlands (ponds and reedbeds) along the Syre stream.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance because it meets one or more previously established criteria and thresholds for identifying sites of biodiversity importance (including Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, Alliance for Zero Extinction sites, and Key Biodiversity Areas)
Additional biodiversity: An important area for Ciconia ciconia with several birds summering in the area. Other species listed on Annex I of the EC Birds Directive and breeding at the site include Lanius collurio and Alcedo atthis. Species occurring on passage include Luscinia svecica, Philomachus pugnax and Tringa glareola.
