Site details


Site description: A low offshore island of boggy grassland, with low cliffs. Neighbouring islands in surrounding waters are also included. Land-uses include summer-homes, some grazing, tourism, collection of Uria aalge eggs, and traditional harvesting of adult Fratercula arctica (`Other' land-use).
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
