Rationale for qualifying as KBA: This site qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of international significance that meets the thresholds for at least one criterion described in the Global Standard for the Identification of KBAs.
Delineation rationale: Original GIS boundary replaced by new version from NABU as part of preparation for the Marine eAtlas in Oct 2012; site area has been correspondingly changed from 800,000 ha to 579,665 ha.
