Site description: The KBA Sierra del Divisor covers an area of 19870.34 sq km and it's located in Perú, within the province of Coronel Portillo in the department of Ucayali and the provinces of Ucayali and Requena belonging to the department of Loreto. This KBA followed the same boundaries as Parque Nacional Sierra del Divisor. The altitude range of the KBA Sierra Divisor is 140 - 396 masl. The weather is warm - tempered. The average annual temperature that borders 25 ° C. The annual precipitation varies between 1600 mm and 2000 mm. Following the National Map, the KBA Sierra Divisor presents ca. 3.4% of Floodable alluvial forest (Bosque aluvial inundable), approximately 12.1% of High hill forest (Bosque de colina alta), approximately 79.8% of Low hill forest (Bosque de colina baja), approximately 3% of Sierra del Divisor hill forest (Bosque de colina de Sierra del Divisor), approximately 1.1% of Non-floodable terrace forest (Bosque de terraza no inundable), approximately 0.2% of Palm swamp (Pantano de palmeras), approximately 0.2% of river and approximately 0.2% of secondary vegetation.
Rationale for qualifying as KBA: The KBA Sierra del Divisor qualifies as a Key Biodiversity Area of ​​international importance that meets the thresholds for the A1b, A1d and B1 criteria outlined in the KBA Global Standard for Identification of KBA. This KBA harbors a range-restricted bird species Thamnophilus divisorius and the Vulnerable primate Cacajao calvus.
